Alexandra Kolesnik Took Part in the Workshops of the Department of Music at the University of Chicago

On April 2-3, 2015 Alexandra Kolesnik, Research Assistant at Poletayev Institute for Theoretical and Historical Studies in the Humanities took part in ‘EthNoise!: The Music, Language, and Culture Workshop’ organized by the Department of Music at the University of Chicago. The workshops were dedicated to the representation of the past in Irish and British academic and popular music, as well as techniques of using and playing national tunes in musical culture. Alexandra presented her research project and took part in the discussion. After the workshops she met with Professor Philip Bohlman, American ethnomusicologist and discussed the main points of her thesis research.
