On March 12, a seminar of IGITI Centre for University Studies was held. IGITI Chief Research Fellow and Professor of History at Indiana University Ben Eklof presented a paper "Seeing Like a State? Local Governance and State-Society Relations in Provincial Russia Through the Lens of the School". See the abstract.
On February 24, IGITI senior research fellow Alexandra Kolesnik participated in a conference "The industry of provocation and protest: contemporary Russian popular music", which was held in the Humboldt University of Berlin.

A new article by chief research fellows of IGITI Elena Vishlenkova and Sergey Zatravkin was published in the Quarterly Journal of the History of Science and Technology (№2, 2019). The Director of the HSE Centre for Source Studies presented his research on the role of ‘administrative entrepreneurs’ in the development of early education and other state institutions in Russia under Peter the Great.
HSE Faculty of Economics in cooperation with School of History will hold on September 2–3, 2016 a workshop named “Understanding economic growth and development in Central and Eastern Europe”. The keynote lecturers of a workshop are Tracy K. Dennison (California Institute of Technology) and Leandro Prados de la Escosura(Carlos III University in Madrid). HSE School of History in cooperation with Institute of World History (Russian Academy of Sciences), Centre d’études franco-russe de Moscou, Kuskovo Estate and Institut de Recherche sur la Renaissance, l’Âge Classique et les Lumières (IRCL – UMR 5186 du CNRS – Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier III) will hold on June 26–28, 2017 an international conference “What is Enlightenment? New Answers to the Old Question” (“L’Identité des Lumières: nouvelles approches”). The conference will be held at Kuskovo Museum-Estate (Moscow). Proposals are accepted until November 1, 2016.

The paper ‘The Establishment of the Higher Attestation Commission (the VAK) and the Politics of the Bolsheviks in the Sphere of Higher Education in the Late 1920s — Early 1930s’ by Vadim Parsamov, Professor at the School of History, Chief Research Fellow at the Poletayev Institute for Theoretical and Historical Studies in the Humanities, was published in the Italian journal ‘History of Education and Children's Literature’.
